The Saudi Arabian Trading and Construction Company (SATCO) began its business operations in 1975, covering sectors of general contracting, landscaping, garden design, supply, control systems services, and airport support services. A few years after its inception, the company witnessed the construction boom in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and benefited from it by establishing partnerships with foreign companies. Subsequently, the local construction boom period ended in 1985, leading many foreign companies, including SATCO's foreign partners, to exit the market. SATCO saw this situation as an opportunity to enhance its capabilities by purchasing assets owned by foreign companies and transferring their employees to work in its departments, which enabled it to acquire foreign expertise and knowledge. As a result, SATCO became one of the most important operational companies in the Kingdom.
