The group's name is derived from a key principle in Qatar's commercial heritage - the concept of a reliable and trustworthy agreement or contract. These values form the core of our corporate identity. A few years before our establishment, Qatar had embarked on an ambitious and advanced growth strategy based on its wealth of energy-based natural resources. By 2005, it had achieved unprecedented growth in its economy, indeed leading in economic growth among the world's nations, and began to be recognized as a major player as a global energy provider and a driver of growth in the Gulf region.
The establishment of Barwa Company was an embodiment of the state's vision, led by His Highness the esteemed Emir of the country and the Qatari government, to build a modern state with a diversified economy for the benefit of future generations. We strive to contribute to the comprehensive development plan set by the Qatari government as outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030.
