The Dubai Health Authority is responsible for regulating and governing the health sector in the Emirate of Dubai. The Authority undertakes the tasks of setting policies and strategies for the development, regulation, licensing, and oversight of healthcare service provision in both the public and private sectors within the Emirate. Its competencies also include regulating, governing, and managing the health insurance and health investments sector in a manner that supports balanced growth in health economics and enhances the health sector's contribution to the Emirate's overall economy. The Authority works to promote the health and safety of the community and protect it from diseases, epidemics, and health risks by developing public health programs and policies, including those for preventive medicine services and occupational health and safety, developing the medical education strategy in the Emirate, and regulating the provision of medical education services and conducting medical research and trials in coordination with relevant entities within and outside the country.
