According to Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program, the management of King Fahd International Airport was privatized on July 1, 2017, and transformed into Dammam Airports Company "DACO," based in Dammam.
The launch of "DACO" is part of the future vision to advance the airport industry, starting with its operation of King Fahd International Airport in 2017, the inclusion of Al-Ahsa International Airport and Al-Qaisumah International Airport in 2021, and the pursuit to expand its activities to extend its services to other local and international airports in the future. It aims to develop infrastructure, operate and develop airport facilities and maintain them, manage commercial and investment relationships, operate air cargo facilities, and enhance operational capacities and practical efficiency of airports to keep pace with the development of the aviation industry.
