The group of hospitals founded by Dr. Abdulrahman Taha Bakhsh in 1973 is considered a pioneer among hospitals operating in the Kingdom's private healthcare sector.
Bakhsh Al-Sharafiyah Hospital, established in 1979 according to international hospital standards, has been providing medical services in all specialties and has attracted renowned medical professionals from King Abdulaziz University. It was the first private Saudi hospital to employ professors from the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University, earning it the nickname "the University Hospital."
It received first place among all hospitals in the Western Region, an award presented by His Royal Highness Prince Majid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah Region.
Dr. Bakhsh employed a group of Saudi and non-Saudi physicians, including some of the most prominent university professors. The hospital has developed significantly and has received visits from heads of state, deans of Arab universities, and prominent Islamic figures, including world boxing champion Muhammad Ali, scholar Ahmed Deedat, Sheikh Metwally Al-Shaarawi, and leading figures in Saudi society, as well as Arab and Gulf artists.
Dr. Bakhsh provided numerous social services, including, but not limited to, the Friends of Diabetes Association and the Charitable Society for the Care of Orphans in Mecca, among others. He was dedicated to serving the community.
He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of healthcare services for his countrymen. His sons have carried on his work, following his path and principles to provide the highest level of healthcare and to develop medical practices using the latest scientific advancements in medical equipment and technology.
