Misr Life Insurance Company is the largest life insurance company in Egypt, Africa, and the Arab world.
The company was established in July 2010 through the merger of the life insurance activities of Egypt's oldest and largest state-owned insurance companies: Misr Insurance Company, Al Sharq Insurance Company, Al Alia Insurance Company, and the Egyptian Reinsurance Company.
Misr Life Insurance Company is an Egyptian company and a subsidiary of Misr Holding Insurance Group, which is itself a subsidiary of Egypt's sovereign wealth fund. It is subject to the provisions of Law No. 159 of 1981 and its amendments, with Tax Registration No. 202-444-872, Commercial Registration No. 251937, and License No. 3 from the Financial Regulatory Authority.
