About Doha International Book Fair 2025
Culture and ArtsThe Doha International Book Fair is considered one of the oldest and largest international book fairs held in the region and enjoys a good reputation due to the great turnout from Gulf, Arab, and foreign countries to participate in it.
The fair's first launch was in 1972 under the supervision of the Qatar National Library, and it was held biennially. Since 2002, it has been held annually. The fair gained an international character after its success in attracting the largest and most important publishing houses in the world, starting with 20 publishing houses in the first fair and now reaching 500 publishers representing 35 countries across an area of 29,000 square meters.
Since 2010, the Doha International Book Fair has been selecting a country to be the guest of honor, beginning with the United States of America, then Turkey, Iran, Japan, Britain, Germany, Russia, France, and the Sultanate of Oman is the guest of honor for the fair's thirty-third edition.
